Sam Reider & The Human Hands / Bruce Piephoff – Live at the Reeves
Accordionist and pianist Sam Reider brought along his band The Human Hands from Brooklyn, NY to our May 5, 2018 show for a high energy and spirited evening. The iconic North Carolina singer-songwriter and poet Bruce Piephoff joined the show also and Martha teamed up with Sam and his band on "Viente Anos" and "The Nearness of You."

Jim White / Presley Barker – Live at the Reeves
We welcomed the mesmerizing Jim White to this show from April 14, 2018. Jim has long been one of our favorite songwriters and it was a thrill to get to make some music with him. Also one of North Carolina’s finest young guitar players, Presley Barker, visited for the first time and brought the audience to their feet. Presley was 13 and has since become on of our regular guests. Martha performed a very touching sing-a-long with the the audience as well.

Mollie O'Brien & Rich Moore / Rex McGee – Live at the Reeves
Mollie O'Brien & Rich Moore visited the show on March 3, 2018. Mollie is one of Martha's favorite singers and she was just thrilled to welcome her and her husband Rich on guitar. They are not only a charming husband/wife duo, they also interpret the American folk songbook like no one else. Rex McGee also joined the show bringing along his trademark adventurous spirit on the banjo and fiddle. Playing everything from Bach, murder ballads, fiddle tunes and even a bit of Led Zeppelin and Beethoven from the Reeves Theater in Elkin, NC.

Jonathan Byrd & The Pickup Cowboy / Dan River Girls – Live at the Reeves
The Martha Bassett Show welcomes songwriter/poet Jonathan Byrd and Johnny Waken (aka the Pickup Cowboy) to the show. The stellar sister trio the Dan River Girls also join. This is the first ever TMBS show and the energy is thrilling at the beautiful Reeves Theater in Elkin, NC. Jonathan shares his amazing, witty, and insightful songs along with poetry from his new book "You've Changed." And the Dan River Girls delight with some Patsy Cline and an 80's song by Yaz.
