Slippery Shanty - The Red Eye

You're invited down into the semi-secret underground bar located beneath the Supper Shack. An establishment full of local lore and adult beverages. The nominal proprietor is Captain Delmar Silverfish, but his current catatonic state prevents you from really getting to know the good captain, just yet. Something sinister could be involved, and it's up to Tomas Anonymous to sort it out with some help from Omar Evanston and Chip Woode.

    Royal Blue Vinegaroons
I'll tell you of a pirate crew
    Who famously were all insane
Their sailing ship was made of anchors
They had a most peculiar name
    Royal Blue Vinegaroons
The first mate was a trained baboon
They ate doubloons and drank spittoons
    Royal Blue Vinegaroons
Them scalawags had hooks for hands
And some had wooden pegs for legs
Their captain had the worst prosthetic
He used a starfish for his head
    Royal Blue Vinegaroons
A goofy crew of true buffoons
Their weapons were balloons and spoons
    Royal Blue Vinegaroons
    Royal Blue Vinegaroons
If they return it won't be soon
They got marooned upon the moon
    Royal Blue Vinegarooooons!

A novel and magical podcast

I am throughly enjoying this unique and compelling story and manner of storytelling. It’s unlike anything else I have listened to thus far, and it is the perfect combination of soothing yet addictive. The characters are so alive and the narrator a perfect companion. I can see myself listening to this over and over.

Neat to start but weird direction

The whole show is weird, entertaining, and has a neat premise. However, once you get to around the 100th episode to so, it gets… odd. Not sure I follow how or why it goes that direction… seems like the story ended and they weren’t sure where to go, so they did the Bed Bug episodes. Maybe I’m missing something in another episode that explains it or perhaps this was just a creative outlet, but it seemed slightly out of place to me.
I came here because of the Ostium crossover and plan to relisten to this one.

RiffTheJet ,

Satire & Surrealism

Reminds me of some of the more bizarre and surreal Monty Python sketches - a darker, stranger Burnistoun or Portlandia. The episodes are short and sweet chapters in the life of a sight-seer on an island gone mad where doorways to alternate realities and what’s possible and isn’t have been thrown open...

...And so we’re all taken on the most fascinating tour of the place, everywhere on the island (and everywhere has a strange, wondrous story to tell).
