Lauri has created the methodology of heart centered boundaries to create boundaries within relationships with loved ones which she says is very different than setting boundaries at work. I love how she looks at boundary setting as a dance, coming from what I want instead of what I do want, my deep desires. Language matters, setting and enforcing boundaries vs. radiating boundaries from the inside by being in alignment with what we want and desire. When we can be in our own core energy it's so much easier to stay on our side of the street and dance from that non-attached place. And big takeaway - Heart Centered Boundaries create Hiply Moments! Today we've got the juicy topic of feeling tarry about work life balance. Tarry feelings point to crossed boundaries and unmet needs and help us get curious about what is happening. Did you know that 95% of our thoughts and beliefs are subconscious, and many of them are installed by culture and our programming and we don't readily believe in them. We talk about NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming - and how our language can help us rewire our mind. Changing just one word in our language can help change our whole outlook. We discuss NVC - Non Violent Communication, also called compassionate or needs based communication. It's a communication and coaching modality that I've simplified with hiply. I use just two feeling words - tarry and hiply, and 3 basic universal needs, love, peace and freedom, to incorporate all our human needs. I use tarry for a "negative" feeling word and reframe it as helpful to have tarry feelings, to take the subconscious judgments out of it and make it easier to move through tarry feelings. And often the most important thing is to help each other or ourselves in calming and regulating our nervous system before it's possible to have productive communication. Today I've got a treat for you - I'm practicing Hiply with budding psychologist Mikayla. She's 25 years old and going through big transitions in her life. When you have big life decisions to make, have you ever wondered about what it is that you even really want? How do you trust to know when it's time to make decisions? Take Aways: Time is fluid, it can move slow or fast. Energy is fluid, when you're doing what you love and are meant to be doing it takes a lot less energy. Life Transitions can be overwhelming and feel tarry and overwhelming, leaving you exhausted. Can it be okay to trust that you'll know when it's time to make a decision? Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) is a thing and can make keeping your boundaries tricky. When you say yes to please someone, you're saying no to yourself. Make sure to also please yourself and your parts. Saying no takes practice. It's only a problem if it bothers you. Paying attention to your body and those subtle and not so subtle hints can be really useful as they point us to true North.
