Second season is even better

I really learned a lot in season 1 and season 2 has even more soul.

Well produced but I wish it would go more in depth.

I’m going through these but I feel like right where it starts to make new ground it stops. Why is care “racist”? What are providers being taught during “anti-racism/equitable care training”? Is it effective? What healing and complications take place during the first two weeks that is not being monitored? What happens when mom is sick near hospital discharge but baby is fine and vice versa? Why is abortion care so critical to family planning clinics in low income neighborhoods - to the point where they would shut down if they can’t provide that service? What actually does cause abortion rates to go down?

I am excited that the podcast is highlighting a country like Germany where there is both private and public health. I didn’t understand how much different healthcare could be until I lived in New Zealand which also has public and private healthcare, and a really strong midwifery presence.

I just think if you’re going to deepen people’s understanding then you need to delve even more into these types of issues. As a person who is white and felt unheard, unsupported, and almost had something missed on the way out the hospital door the stories you picked had me clenching the armrests in my car just feeling absolutely horrified for some of the women in these stories.
