013 - 48 Days To The Work (And Life) You Love - Dan Miller

013 - 48 Days To The Work (And Life) You Love - Dan Miller

48 Days To The Work (And Life) You Love by Dan Miller is a wonderful book outlining how to craft your entire life, not just your career, into what you desire it to be.
This book has been on my list to read for a long time but I have not read it because I told myself the 48 Days podcats was enough. This was a on over justification for not taking the time to read the book but this summer I made the decision to dive in and I am so glad I did.
I believe everyone should read this book regardless of if they are looking for a new job or career change. The steps outlined in 48 Days To The Work (And Life) You Love are practical for oncovering who you are, what work you feel most called to do, and aligning the two together.

    012 - Everyday Millionaires - Chris Hogan

    012 - Everyday Millionaires - Chris Hogan

There is so much talk going around right now saying it is impossible (and maybe immoral) to build wealth in today's society. I think that mindset is ridiculous and it reminded me of the book Everyday Millionaires by Chris Hogan I read a few years ago that outlines a clear process to building a million dollar net worth.
Is it easy? For some yes, for others no. Is it possible? Absolutely.
Even if you do not believe it is possible please stop stealing hope and joy from others who still believe it is. There are coutnless people showing a million dollar net worth is completely obtainable in today's world even with crazy inflation, student loan payments returning, all-time high credit card debt balances, and
This book gives practical steps for building a million dollar net worth, examples of others who have already done so, and the mindset practices encouraged to adopt along the way. You can become a millionaire and Everyday Millionaire by Chris Hogan will show you how.

011 - The Daily Reading of 75 Hard

011 - The Daily Reading of 75 Hard

It's 75 Hard Week at JohnnyBoy Studios so of course I have to include an episode about The Daily Reading of 75 Hard!
I went through 75 Hard in the fall of 2022 and this podcast was born out of that journey. Part of the program is to daily read 10 pages of a non-fiction book which aligned with a goal I had to read more. Those 75 days gave me a framework for moving forward with the practice of reading personal development books on a more regular basis. That is a practice I will be reengaging with moving forward.
I truly believe the right books can change your entire future if you just take the time to read them.
For 75 Hard Week I had to talk about the task of Reading 10 pages of a non-fiction book (audio books don't count) and Johnny's Library was the perfect place to do so. Check out this episode as I dive all into why this was a game changer in my life and how I am getting back to the practice.
Go check out the brand-new landing page for 75 Hard and take a look at all the recommended reading listed!

009 - The Proximity Principle - by Ken Coleman

009 - The Proximity Principle - by Ken Coleman

In order to do what you want to do you need to get around people who are already doing it, in places it is already being done.
That's the Proximity Principle summed up in one sentence.
The genuis behind this book though, is that Ken shows you how to use the Proximity Principle to get your dream job. This book is not about how to use people and step over them to get to your goals, it is about being intentional with your connections and your time to make those dreams a reality.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ken at an event and talking to him breifly about the book, he gave me more insight into how it can still apply to an entreprenurial journey not only a 9-to-5 career. This book will be one of my recomendations to anyone looking to change jobs or grow their own.
