Parallels Between the US and Brazil Insurrections
Welcome to the Faith In Each Other Podcast. If we are going to have faith in each other, we believe we need to be willing to have hard conversations, and that is what we aim to do on this show as we learn together and go through the journey together of seeing where we, as a society, have gone wrong and where we have gotten it right.
In today's episode, Tom, David, and Jordan discuss the current Brazilian political crisis and how it compares to the Jan. 6th Insurrection in the United States. How do we hold those responsible for an attack like this attack accountable? Will it yield any positive outcomes? Can a country somehow become more unified after such an event?
We hope today's conversation encourages you in your journey to have hard conversations and most importantly...to listen to others around you.

The Importance of Youth in Politics
Welcome to the Faith In Each Other Podcast. If we are going to have faith in each other, we believe we need to be willing to have hard conversations, and that is what we aim to do on this show as we learn together and go through the journey together of seeing where we, as a society, have gone wrong and where we have gotten it right.
In today's episode, Tom, David, and Jordan discuss the importance of youth in politics today. Even though almost half the world’s population is under 30 years old, globally, less than 6% of parliamentarians are under 35 years old. Even though we are seeing this trend start to change, what would be the outcome of having more young voices in government positions? At what age do we start paying attention to politics? And are these young politicians really ready to take on the responsibility of helping to run our country?
We hope today's conversation encourages you in your journey to have hard conversations and most importantly...to listen to others around you.

The Reconstruction Era
Welcome to the Faith In Each Other Podcast. If we are going to have faith in each other, we believe we need to be willing to have hard conversations, and that is what we aim to do on this show as we learn together and go through the journey together of seeing where we, as a society, have gone wrong and where we have gotten it right.
In today's episode, Tom, David, and Jordan discuss the Reconstruction implemented by Congress from 1866 to 1877, where we saw the implementation of the 13th, 14, and 15th Amendments and a country that was, for the first time, defining the means by which white people and black people could live together in a nonslave society. How can we take lessons and actions from that time period, apply it to ours, to see a redefinition of our democracy today?
We hope today's conversation encourages you in your journey to have hard conversations and most importantly...to listen to others around you.

In today's episode, Tom, David, and Jordan discuss the recent speech by President Biden as well as the possible outcomes of the midterm elections. Are some of these candidates a threat to our democracy? How close are we, really, to see ourselves as “We the People?” What do we risk by not voting? What can we do to avoid voting in fear or ignorance?
We hope today's conversation encourages you in your journey to have hard conversations and most importantly...to listen to others around you.

Hypocrisy in Politics
Welcome to the Faith In Each Other Podcast. If we are going to have faith in each other, we believe we need to be willing to have hard conversations, and that is what we aim to do on this show as we learn together and go through the journey together of seeing where we, as a society, have gone wrong and where we have gotten it right.
In today's episode, Tom, David, and Jordan discuss if and why being a Democrat or Republican really matters. Republicans and Democrats differ substantially over several factors, including faith, freedom, health, and hobbies, but there is hypocrisy on both sides. For example, Herschel Walker is running for Senate as a pro-lifer even though he has personally supported two abortions from past relationships, while John Fetterman is running for Senate claiming ‘no impairment’ even though he is clearly experiencing issues from his recent stroke. How can we continue to have faith in each other when we see people defend both sides in such a delusional way that only being a Republican or a Democrat is what matters?
We hope today's conversation encourages you in your journey to have hard conversations and most importantly...to listen to others around you.

How Does Certainty Create Division in Democracy?
Welcome to the Faith In Each Other Podcast. If we are going to have faith in each other, we believe we need to be willing to have hard conversations, and that is what we aim to do on this show as we learn together and go through the journey together of seeing where we, as a society, have gone wrong and where we have gotten it right.
In today's episode, Tom, David, and Jordan discuss the topic of certainty, and how it creates division in our democracy. In a democracy, certainty implies that anyone who disagrees is wrong. It implies that a certain belief or point of view is obvious, and therefore anyone who does not follow that belief is incompetent. In our faith, we can become blinded by our own certainties to misinterpret God’s plan for us. Certainty is a way of thinking that breeds anger in a debate, leads to misrepresentation of God, and rarely leads to positive outcomes. So how do we set aside our certainties and keep faith in each other?

Why We Need Faith In Each Other: A Conversation About Race and Class
Welcome to the Faith In Each Other Podcast. If we are going to have faith in each other, we believe we need to be willing to have hard conversations, and that is what we aim to do on this show as we learn together and go through the journey together of seeing where we, as a society, have gone wrong and where we have gotten it right.
We believe that our faith in each other can lead us to a beautiful future. In this first episode, we discuss one of the most divisive topics in society...race and class. Even though David is an African American pastor and Tom is a white business man, we believe there is value in having these conversations together so we can all better understand the challenges facing our society.
