Join me as I share why I started writing my first book and the question I asked God as I was walking in the middle of my pain.
Can’t beat boy talks with your girlfriends and getting full off Beginets! Join me on today’s episode as I interview my friend, Bre. We recently traveled to Mississippi to visit my family and it was Bre’s first time in the Sip, first time having Beignets, first time meeting my fam, and first time downloading Hinge. Although we had a great time, Bre has no desire to move to Mississippi. Hear more on this episode about Bre’s experience with dating apps, her time in Mississippi, our crushes, and what we look for in a guy. Also, let us know in my DM, if you enjoyed the episode and if you would like for us to start a Podcast together :)comelikeachild Instagram
Africa Recap!

Africa Recap!

WOW!! Africa was amazing!! If you ever get to go, this is your sign to say, yes. I went with my church (Celebration) to help put on four Radiant conferences. Radiant is a conference we put on every year at our main campus in Georgetown, TX. I highly recommend you attend next May 2-3 or May 3-4. I have attended three Radiant conferences and I can promise you that you won’t leave the same. We have four Celebration campuses in Xai Xai, Africa and we were able to give these ladies the same experience as the ladies in the States, if not better. The kids stole my heart and as you heard, I’ll be sponsoring a little boy whom God allowed me to encounter while meeting another sponsored kid. I can’t put into words what God did in Africa but know my Africa experience was the trip of a lifetime!!Radiant Conference Sponsorship Kids :)
Join me on this episode as I help you honor God in two areas that over half of Americans are struggling to honor Christ. In 2020 I read an article posted by CNN and it read these words, "Millennials are one paycheck away from being homeless." I looked at my online bank account and quickly learned the writer of this article stated a fact about me that caused me to pause and think about my finances. I did not realize how close I was to holding a sign at the nearest red light. I was convicted and decided I need to honor God with my finances. Learning about my finances led me to think about how I spend my time and from there I discovered I struggle with the spirit of laziness. I opened my bible to see what God's word has to say. Most, if not all, scriptures about laziness point to poverty. I believe if you evaluate how you spend your time and your finances, your relationship with God with grow deeper and you will live in freedom.
I know we can all relate to Paul in Romans chapter seven when he is walking though spiritual battles. He says on Romans 7:15 "For I do not understand what I am doing because I do not practice what I want to do, but what I hate". Every believer should be able to relate to Paul because we have both the flesh and the Spirit living inside of us, which means that everyday we wake up we are going into the battlefield. Press play and learn what Ashley does to overcome those spiritual battles. You too can overcome because of the One who overcame.
On this episode I share information from chapter two of my book surrounding Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart". This scripture is loved by so many people because of the promise, "God WILL give us the desires of our heart". Who doesn't want that promise, right? I know I want all of my desires to come to past. But I think we tend to read this verse backwards, "God if you will give me my desires, then I will ____________". I'm sure we have all been there before..."God I promise to change when ______". Listen to this episode and hear me share my thoughts on what can help us delight in the Lord as well what we can do to purify our desires.

God is good! Listen to some of the challenges I faced as a chid, in my teenage years, and my adult years. God has brought me through them all and I know He is going to continue to be the same God as I continue to journey through life. I hope you are encouraged, inspired and hopeful after listening to my testimony. Follow me @comelikeachild on Instagram.
Are you struggling with masturbating, pornography or lusting? I open up about my struggles with these three sexual sins on this episode. Listen, if this is something that you are embarrassed about, DON'T BE! That's exactly what Satan wants, but God wants you to get free from these sexual sins. I promise you as I look at statistics and talk with my friends, you are not alone, there are more people than you may realize in your current circle, struggling with these three things. I pray that you can find a godly mentor to open up with about your struggles because I believe if more people said, "Hey, I've gotta tell you something.", then more can say, "Me too", and maybe we can cut back on sin and dive deeper into God's Word together. Follow my instagram page @comelikeachild for updates and feel led to DM me your thoughts/struggles.
I had the privilege and honors to do a Q&A with my friend, Casey. He shared what he looks for in a woman, his thoughts on women pursuing, and much more surrounding dating. I end the episode sharing what I look for in a man and what God's Word says when it comes to sexuality.
Are you in a season of waiting? I believe we all are, whether you are waiting to get your hair done, waiting on a spouse, waiting to build a house or waiting to buy a dog...we're all waiting on something. This can be a very hard season for so many people, I know I have struggled over the years in the waiting myself. But I also believe this is the most important season because we get to experience Isiah 40:31 when we wait properly (I'll unpack more of that in this episode)Lately, I have had the opportunity to study the word, "Wait" and I've learned that the Hebrew word for wait is "Qavah". Qavah means to wait actively with anticipation, hopefully watching for God to act, to intertwine, binding together, or to plait (like the plaiting of the hair). I also learned that qavah is active and not passive, which means that we should be doing something as we wait. If you are a believer you should be intertwining Jesus in every portion of your life as you wait. We see this word qavah used in Isiah 40:31 and I will unpack what this means in this episode. Also, I share a secret at the end of this episode that I believe will excite you on the journey as we go, so be sure to stay until the end! Thanks for listening to the very first episode of "The Come Like A Child", podcast with Ashley Minor.
