Welcome to this episode of the Inner and outer peace podcast where we explore the topic of rest and the negative emotions that can often be associated with it. In our fast-paced world, taking time to slow down and rest can sometimes feel like a guilty pleasure, and we may even feel shame for not being productive every moment of the day. In this episode, we take a deep dive into these negative emotions and explore ways to overcome them. I share my personal struggle with rest and the emotions I have experienced when trying to slow down. Through personal anecdotes, we explore how to let go of guilt and shame and learn to accept rest as a necessary and valuable part of our lives. We discuss practical tips for finding rest and relaxation, and how to make sure that our downtime is truly restful, rather than just another source of stress. For this episode, we have none other than Mohammad Islam. Most well-known for his podcast, the Mo Show, which he in fact hosts himself, he has interviewed very important Saudi leaders such as Princess Reema bint Bandar and Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki al Faisal, both inspiring individuals who we've discussed in this episode. I myself am a huge fan of the Mo Show and I appreciate that Mo allowed a space like this to exist and, more importantly, that space to exist here in Saudi. I believe the mo show exemplifies the Saudi vision of development diversity and inclusion and is hosted by one of the most amazing individuals I've ever interviewed. In this episode, Mo walks me through the process of how he came to create the Mo Show, all the way to now, when his podcast is the most popular in Saudi Arabia. We also discuss the mental health issues that Mo has faced, as well as the ways in which he, and anyone else, can deal with such issues and much more! I hope you enjoy this episode this was by far the most special episode to film for me I learned so much from mo and im so privileged to have gotten the opportunity to have a pure and genuine conversation with him. Finally, thank you to ithra and the entire ithra team for allowing me to record in the beautiful library. I cannot describe how grateful I am; it was a dream come true for me to record in that library, so thank you. Disclaimer: Everything mentioned in this episode is based on personal experiences. Think like a monk is a book published by media influencer Jay Shetty, who you may know from his popular podcast "on purpose." He is one of my biggest role models. Jay Shetty recounts and delineates his experiences as a monk in this book, as well as the wisdom he received from palatial practical methods. Despite the criticism this book gets , I actually enjoyed Jay's auditory skill set, mind-set, heart-set, and consciousness that he is sharing with everyone, and I still believe I learned a lot from just the first chapter. Reading this book feels like you are having a conversation with the author, which is always a sign of a good book. In this chapter wrap up I include: Things I loved and learned Things I felt were important Notes I took during reading The reason I decided to do this is that not only is this book full of useful and valuable information, but it's also unfortunate that not many people will be able to obtain it because not everyone enjoys reading or listening to audio books, so here's another way you can get the information.
