Description

It’s never easy to talk with people who don’t agree with you; and yet, problems cannot be solved without the search for common ground. Joe Walsh is a former U.S. Congressman, a former Presidential candidate, a radio host, and a man whose personal mission is to LISTEN. With WHITE FLAG with JOE WALSH, he surrenders the urge to fight and strives to find a path to unite, not divide. He talks with notable people that have vastly differing viewpoints from his own. These are passionate conversations with an aim to find compromise... and, in turn, a better America.

Sure there's plenty going on good bad and ugly going on with these college protests. But this is America. We're having a national conversation about a tough, emotional issue. And it's playing out on our college campuses. Celebrate that. And get involved in that conversation.
He was angry. He was pissed off. He was scared. And he got in my ear for 4-5 minutes and couldn't understand how I could vote for Biden & the Democrats because they were personally trying to ruin the country. All I could respond with was an apology.
Always remember, that these people marching & demonstrating for the "Palestinian cause, began marching and demonstrating the day after October 7th. Before Israel had ever responded to Hamas. Before Israel had done anything. Think about that.
What's going on at Columbia U & a few other schools is terrible, it's move well beyond peaceful protests, but we're talking about a bunch of rich college kids on a few urban campuses rooting for Hamas. That's it. The vast majority of America stands with Israel.
According to a new YouGov poll, each political party views the other party less favorably than they view OJ Simpson. That isn't good. OJ killed two people. We're on a dangerous road here we gotta get off of.
To be a citizen in a free society means you must accept the truth that there are differences. You don't have to accept the differences. But you have to accept that differences exist. And way too many of us have stopped doing this.
I love the state of Israel. And I think it would be a brilliant move by Israel to completely ignore what Iran did over the weekend and not respond at all. Instead, just focus on finishing the job in Gaza and defeating Hamas. It would shock the world.
Joe Walsh, a former U.S. Representative from Illinois, and Fred Guttenberg, a businessman-turned-activist following his daughter’s murder in the 2018 Parkland school shooting, went from arguing with each other on social media and television to engaging in meaningful dialogue. The “Two Dads” forged a friendship through patience and civil discourse, demonstrating how people from opposite ends of the political spectrum can find common ground on contentious issues such as gun safety.
I sat down with 8 Trump supporters yesterday. Most of what I heard wouldn't surprise you. But some of what I heard would. Some of what I heard gave me a little bit of...hope.
For Republicans, it's abortion. For Democrats, it's immigration. Each party politically this year has an issue that going to hurt them politically. Big time. So it will be a battle to see how each issue resonates in each battleground state.
Nobody should be surprised that Donald Trump yesterday offered a 14th position on abortion. Trump doesn't have a core belief on abortion. Trump doesn't have a core belief on Israel. Trump doesn't have a core belief on ANY issues. Trump's only core belief is in Trump. Not a shocker.
In America, you have a right to burn the American flag or even chant "death to America." I may not like it, and I don't, but I will defend your right to do it. Tolerance of differences is essential.
If Joe Biden continues to distance himself from Israel, he will lose in November. He will lose moderate Dems, he will lose moderate Jews, he will lose NeverTrumpers like me. Stand with Israel Joe Biden. It's the rights thing to do and it's the smart political thing to do.
What if Biden wins the popular vote again by 8-9 million people, but Trump eakes out a close electoral victory? What should Biden do? Why am I even asking that question? Is that very question even offensive? Should Biden do what Trump did and try to stay in power? I sat down with someone who isn't quite sure. Scary stuff.
Three days ago, Donald Trump posted an image of the current president of the United States being kidnapped and likely assasinated. Stop. Take a good look at what Trump did. Get righteously angry, call it out, and share your righteous anger. That's how we defeat him.
Most Americans don't want to listen to people we disagree with, we are increasingly hating the people we disagree with, we consider the people we disagree with to be our mortal enemies. We're all on this road, some are further down this road than others. But it's a dangerous road to be on.
We all face hard times, bad times, tough times, struggles, obstacles, suffering, roadblocks, and hardships. We all do. Every day. Every week. It's as true as the breath we take every day. We have a choice. We can either avoid the "difficulty" or we can use it. And learn from it. And grow because of it.
When I was in Congress, I didn't appreciate Joe Lieberman's collegiality and compromise. Those were dirty words to me back then. Our politics now is ugly, divisive and uncompromising. How do we fix it? Be like Lieberman.
Too many Americans embrace conspiracies wherever they turn. Too many Americans refuse to believe basic truths. Our institutions, the media, our politicians, but yes, also "too many Americans" are to blame for this. Our democracy will have a hard time thriving as long as this remains the case.

They all belong to the same club. The politicians, Republican and Democrat, the people who work for the politicians, and the cable news talking heads. They all belong to the same elitist, DC/NYC insider club. And they all play the same revolving door game. And the rest of the country doesn't.

Thanks for -how rare!- a respectful and meaningful discussion on Israel/Palestine. David tackles very difficult questions in an astute and fair way.

So racism is wrong, but racist trolling is fine. And condemning anything at all is just virtue signalling, except condemning a defensive war. Exasperating, just listening to all this. I admire Joe's stamina, doggedly driving this conversation.

I started listening but couldn't finish. All the same false equivalence, red herring and other bad faith debate from a "repeat the tired lines, R no matter what" asshat

I thought it kind of funny - Derek spent equivalent amounts of time obsessing about Bill Kristol to the time he spent objecting to folks obsessing about Trump!
