    177. Conserving Your Energy in MS 101

Today, I want to share a conversation with you that I had about a year ago. It was with someone on social media, after I had shared something in my Instagram stories. Someone with MS commented her thoughts on what I shared and it was something that really stuck with me. Since it hit home with me I wanted to share this with you! I want everyone to hear it because I know that there are more people that feel that same way.

    176. Reduce Pain in Multiple Sclerosis

    176. Reduce Pain in Multiple Sclerosis

Today, I want to talk about pain, and the reason I want to talk about pain is because two thirds of people with multiple sclerosis will have some level of pain at some point in their MS journey. And so I really wanted to break down what MS pain is like, what it's caused from, and how it's different from orthopedic pain. And we're also going to touch a bit on some treatment options!

    175. Destigmatize Chronic Illness with Author Julie Stamm

    175. Destigmatize Chronic Illness with Author Julie Stamm

Thank you so much for tuning in today. I am interviewing a guest that we have previously had on The MSing Link podcast because she has such a powerful story, but also has something new up her sleeve that I just think the whole world should know about. I'm interviewing Julie Stamm. On today's episode, we talk about her book that normalizes differing abilities and amplifies how each of us can thrive in spite of challenges, and her newest creation, 52 Essential Inclusion Skills, which come in an inclusion deck.

Julie Stamm was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2007. Following her diagnosis, Julie made it her mission to educate, advocate, and support others battling chronic illnesses. She works tirelessly to help lessen the burden each patient has to bear. Her efforts have given her the opportunity to work with physicians, patients, and foundations across the Globe.

After the birth of her son in 2016, Julie shifted her focus to supporting the children of parents with a chronic illness. Her children’s book entitled “Some Days: A tale of love, ice cream, and my mom’s chronic illness” was created to normalize differing abilities and amplify how each of us can thrive in spite of the challenges. In 2023, Julie co-created ‘52 Essential Inclusion Skills - An A to Z Guide to Kindness, Compassion, and Respect for Diverse Abilities’ with Mind Brain Parenting’s, Dr. Jenny Woo. The movement Julie has created has changed the apologetic tone and transformed the child and parent’s experiences into uplifting stories that highlight the patient’s resilience. Julie is committed to representing the underrepresented. Through her work, she has brought awareness and understanding to some of the many diverse abilities that can impact all of our lives, either directly or indirectly.

    174. Progress is Possible w/ Jennifer M.

One question that I am asked frequently is, "What can someone expect physically, mentally, and emotionally after going through any of my programs or courses like The Missing Link?"  So, instead of hearing it from me I wanted you to hear from one of my more recent clients that I have had the honor of working one on one with. We were actually only working together for just three months, and I think you'll find her story, her journey, and her symptoms that are now leading to improvements really motivating!

Wealth of MS info. Love this podcast!

I have obtained so much more knowledge here than I have anywhere else related to multiple sclerosis. I was feeling very hopeless before I found Dr. Gretchen Hawley. She tends to ask the right questions as well, which is extremely helpful for getting the information that will be most helpful for us. I also love the length of these episodes. Not too long, not too short.
