    46. Drew Robinson: Mental Health Beyond The Field

    46. Drew Robinson: Mental Health Beyond The Field

We’re kicking off mental health awareness month with former professional baseball player, Drew Robinson. Drew's advocacy for mental health is deeply personal. In 2020, he attempted to commit suicide. It came as a surprise to everyone on the outside because Drew looked like he had it all— playing in the major leagues, surrounded by people who loved and supported him. Drew's suicide attempt was not successful and he is no longer is playing for the MLB. He retired in 2021 after an unexpected comeback and has decided to join the front office of the San Francisco Giants organization to focus on being the "bridge" between players and mental health professionals. And today we get to learn how he is hoping to do just that.

Drew said in another interview, "I am here for a reason" and there is no doubt in our mind..he's right.

It’s about time!

Honestly the most heartwarming podcast on the air today. Ben gets the guests who open up and inform. Gratitude!

Episode 36

Ben, this is not a conversation that aligns with God’s Word. As a follower of Christ Jesus, there must be no compromise. While this psychologist can say that we all have “our own truth,” Jesus is the way, THE TRUTH, and the life. His Truth, the narrow path that leads to life, is what we align to as believers. There is a broad road that leads to eternal damnation, and many will travel that road. Many. You claim to be a follower of Christ. Ben, being a follower of Jesus “looks” like something. It means no compromise. It means inviting guests onto your podcast that are immersed in the Truth of God’s Word, not immersed in the many ideologies of this world. You must be very careful and exercise the best judgment as you hold a platform. People are listening to you. Are you leading them toward’s Jesus, or away from Him? Those in leadership will be judged more harshly. When we choose Christ, we must be (all in), or we are not in at all. There is no sitting on the fence, and the lukewarm He will spit out of His mouth. This psychologist is not a Christian and only shares her worldly beliefs. As followers of Christ, we stand entirely on what God says. His Truth. And God is against premarital sex. Sex was designed for 1 man and 1 woman, and only in the confines of marriage. There is forgiveness available to those who have fallen short when they sincerely repent. Giving air time to ungodly counsel is not only against God, but rather glorifies the enemy and his agenda. May Christ Jesus be glorified in all that you say and do! And may you use your influence to usher people into God’s Kingdom!
