I have never heard a more shocking choice in a karaoke jam, but we fixed it I promise...Rei represents a hugely positive and resonant shift on the NZ music scene, where artists are becoming the champions of their craft, and commercial opportunities are fitting into their narrative. His hit single 'Good Mood' (A crowd pleaser to this day) was picked up by Smirnoff and has admittedly paid his rent for a few years. Over and above this Rei's a successful touring artist who's also leading the charge incorporating te reo into his music, Rei is super personable and someone we all can relate to in this podcast, however don't let his laid back demeanour fool you though, he works super hard at his craft and this is something I really appreciated. This is a really great listen for anyone that's followed his journey or who wants to get a first hand insight into the NZ music scene, from someone who's worked hard for it all the way.In this podcast we cover - How Rei's musical journey began and what lead him to become an artist- Helpful tips for artists coming up- His commercial partnerships and how they eventuated- His new project and why he chose to release two albums - His lockdown experience and more!Follow Rei and support his music below.https://www.facebook.com/musicbyreihttps://www.instagram.com/musicbyrei/?hl=en
