    981. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Christ and Classics, 20)

    981. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Christ and Classics, 20)

In this episode, Colton Moore and Devin Wilkins discuss the first book in C. S. Lewis’ Narnia Chronicles, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. They explore the themes of winter and Christmas in Narnia, the significance of Father Christmas in the story, and the use of mythological imagery to communicate the gospel. They also address concerns about the inclusion of pagan gods in children's stories. The conversation explores the relationship between myth and truth, particularly in the context of Christianity. It delves into the idea that myth can participate in truth and how the incarnation is seen as the culmination of Myth becoming fact (Devin) or the Fact becoming myth (Colton).

Key points: Myth can participate in truth and provide glimpses of God's attributes. From a Greek pagan perspective, the incarnation can be viewed as The Myth becoming fact. From a Christian perspective, the incarnation can be viewed as The Fact becoming myth since creation is God’s STORY.

Great Podcast!

Been looking for a podcast that works through a passage of scripture in Greek. This is that podcast. I also love the special episodes.

From a student of Koine Greek

Fabulous podcast. Please keep it up. Too often familiarity with the languages bears itself out in a superiority complex in pastoral leadership, rather than in humble, clear and beneficial exegesis, drawing out timeless truths from God’s Word to feed God’s people. As Spurgeon quipped, God called the shepherds to feed his lambs, not his giraffes. Thanks for bringing the fruit down for the herd to feast guys.
