At just 22 years old, Marcelo Palomino has already left an indelible mark on the sport, representing the youth USA national team, gracing the pitches of Major League Soccer with the Houston Dynamo, and now, embarking on a new chapter in the Superettan league in Sweden. Marcelo Palomino is a 22 year old professional soccer player from Houston, Texas. He is currently playing for GIF Sundsvall in Sweden’s 2nd tier, Superettan. After spending his whole youth career with Houston Dynamo, and even making his MLS debut at 19 years old, Marcelo had a few untimely injuries that set him back in Houston. He went on to play one season with Charlotte Independence in the USL Championship followed by one season with Houston Dynamo’s MLS next squad. Marcelo refused to let adversity dampen his spirit. Instead, he viewed these challenges as opportunities for growth and self-discovery. Sensing the call of destiny and fueled by an unyielding desire to reach the pinnacle of European soccer, Marcelo made the courageous decision to pursue his dream abroad. He first signed with AFC Eskilstuna in Sweden’s 2nd tier scoring 5 goals and 3 assist in his first season abroad. This season he is playing for GIF Sundsvall, who are pushing for promotion in to Sweden’s top tier of football. Johan Gómez is a 22 year old professional soccer player from Texas, currently playing for Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2nd Bundesliga. Having known he wanted to test his abilities in Europe, Johan ventured to Porto after several trials around Europe, eventually joining their u19 setup and B team one year after the other. A testing time for the young striker, who reveals some of his lowest and most humbling moments struck there. But it certainly didn’t stop the dream, moving to east Germany to join FSV Zwickau (and American coach and former guest Joe Enochs) in the 3rd Bundesliga. Two seasons, 6 goals in each, helped Johan get the move to the blue and yellow Eintracht Braunschweig. At just 22 years of age, the only limit is the sky. Marcus Urban is currently the head of education of coaching at 1. FC Union Berlin. Having spent years traveling the world, Marcus realized he was fascinated by football development in different countries. He knew that his goal was to work in football but the question was how could he best utilize his talents and carve his own way. A student of the game, he’s used his travels to take knowledge from (examples of where he’s worked or been) all with the determination to become a master of his craft. Kayla Fernandez is a professional footballer for Atlas FC in the Liga MX Femenil, Mexico's first tier. Having rose through the ranks at the famous FC St. Pauli, and helping them promote to the first bundesliga, Ivan transferred an hour southwest to Werder Bremen. There, he was a pivotal piece in a very successful period for the white and green; including a winning the battle for the double (Bundesliga & Pokal) at the end of the 2003-04 season. He would also join the Croatian national team at two European Championships and the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Off the field, Ivan would face his greatest and most challenging battle. Lucas Stauffer is an American born professional soccer player who has traveled the world playing the beautiful game. He's found success both domestically and abroad, and has challenged himself to find opportunities to grow himself both on and off the field. At a very early age he was tested in Holland and Denmark, an experience that really opened his eyes to the levels around the world. Lucas also enjoyed a fruitful career at Creighton University, before being taken 26th overall in the MLS draft by the Vancouver Whitecaps. Most recently he's spent time at the historically massive Carl Zeiss Jena in Germany and at the Las Vegas Lights in the USL Championship. Lara Schenk is a German born professional player for RSC Anderlecht in Belgium. Joe Enochs is an American professional coach for SSV Jahn Regensburg in the 3rd Bundesliga. He came to Germany in 1993 and it’s been his home ever since. A club legend at VfL Osnabrück, he played in over 350 games and also featured once for the USMNT. His playing career transitioned into coaching as he spent time with Osnabrück’s second team, stints as a caretaker manager of the first team, before taking over as the first team head coach officially. A long and successful spell of 187 games at FSV Zwickau (also in the 3rd Bundesliga) followed. James Lawrence is a professional footballer for FC Nürnberg in the second Bundesliga. His roadmap has had several stops, some less common than others, but all have left him with a plethora of experiences and accomplishments. From Arsenal Youth Academies, to Ajax, to Slovakia, Belgium with Anderlecht, and Germany with St. Pauli and FC Nürnberg, James shares the far from straight path he took up until now.
