I have been listening to this podcast non stop, I was using audible to fill all my Victorian needs, but this podcast is so good I cancelled my audible. This is THE best source of comprehensive Victorian era information. Period.

Amazing podcast, picked it up this summer on a cross country trip. Upside, made the miles fly by, downside is now I am caught up on the episodes. The host is amazing; good cantor, well researched, and entertaining.

I started listening to this a few days ago and really enjoy it. The topics are interesting and the show is well written. The host keeps your attention, and I enjoy his dry sense of humor! I thank him for all of his hard work and study!

A very metered British accent conveys the meticulously curated research on all things Victorian. Owen really enjoyed the episodes on Charles Darwin. I stumbled on this podcast by happenstance but am thrilled. I began at the beginning and have listened to two years worth of episodes within the last week. Organizing my 7 year old son’s s extensive Lego collection (because you can’t build properly if you aren’t able to find the red, transparent, 2x2 brick immediately) has been less daunting and - dare I say - delightful with Chris’ lovely, calming voice and extensive knowledge. Thanks so much!

This is a great podcast and the creator combines both excellent narration and very insightful information. I especially like how he constantly puts everything into context of how people of the era thought with a relatively unbiased view. My only complaint is that he tends to spend way more time than he needs to on some details and subjects (mostly art and literature) that just don’t seem to really add anything to the narrative. With some work he could be on the level of Dan Carlin or Mike Duncan.

I’ve been listening to many British history podcasts, including the British History Podcast with Jamie and Pax Británica with Sam, and this one is right up with the best! Chris’s clearly passionate about the topic, approaches it from a unique angle and is thoroughly engaging. I highly recommend!!

I love this podcast. I will admit I had to get used to the narrator’s voice becoming Queen Victoria, but I give him an A all the way around. He’s honest and funny and knows his stuff!

There are a good handful of British history podcasts, but I appreciate that this focuses on a specific age of history that spans less than a century. This podcast is also a perfect complement to the Forgotten Wars Podcast which focuses on British involvement in Southern Africa during the Victorian era.
