wait, they didn't finish the salmon myth! That poet got this boy (Finn) to help him, the boy caught the fish and when they were cooking it to eat, Finn burned his finger, and he put it in his mouth to cool it down, accidentally tasting the fish's juices and gaining the knowledge himself
