Reaching Millennials Today – Desiree Reed pt 2

Reaching Millennials Today Desiree Reed pt 2 (https://kcrpodcast.com/desiree-reed-sm-photo-casual/) Do you have a business, ministry or church that is struggling to reach the young people of society? The “Millennial Generation?” You may have an established business or ministry that has been successful. You’ve done well. But you noticed your clients, customers or congregations is about as old as you are. You can remember when you were the “hot new thing” that would appeal to all age groups. But now, you notice the younger generation is going elsewhere. And you struggle to remain relevant in whatever it is you are doing. You know you need to reach the millennials. You just are not sure of “how” to do that. You past marketing efforts are not achieving the results you want or need. It seems like the young people today speak an entirely different language. How can you catch their attention and market share? How can you let them know that you can help them? Well, to give us some insight into marketing to the millennial generation, I’ve invited Desiree Reed to come on the program. Desiree has a brand messaging and copyright business that does just that, reached the millennial generation. Her website is called “5 Seconds to Impress” at www.5secondstoimpress.com (http://www.5secondstoimpress.com/) . I am so excited to hear what she has to say about this growing market segment that is virtually untapped, but ready for whatever it is you can do to help them, grow them and market to their potential. On her website, Desiree gives a statistic that the Millennial Generation accounts for more than, get this, 3 TRILLION dollars in spending power! So, how can a business or ministry create a brand that reaches across the age demographics? How can they continue to serve their current customer base but then, also, tap into the millennial market segment? You have a 5 Step Branding Messaging Blueprint. Can you explain that to us and walk us through it? Understand your mission, message and purpose. Is this for the overall business operation or specifically for the millennial generation? How our business could relate to that market segment? Identify your audience. Do you mean “millennial’s” or should that be rather specific like, “Millennial’s who like to go to the beach?” Nailing what you need to say. You are talking about the sales pitch? Or something else? Making a connection. We’ve been taught that we need to find common ground with a potential client. I used to be in sales and as I would walk into a home, I’d see pictures of, obviously, grand-children and I’d comment on the picture and ask “How wonderful grandkids are” and talk about mine and get them to talk about theirs. Making that connection. How can we make a connection with millennials when we are not of the same generation? What could we have in common with them? Growing a loyal tribe. That is basically, once they are a client, keep them as a client. Offer freebies and things like that to maintain their loyalty? Desiree, this all sounds so fantastic. I know I’ve been banging my head against a proverbial wall in trying to figure out if and how to reach this millennial generation. I’ve learned some things today and I believe our listeners have as well. I sure I will have some questions as I continue to go through this – and I’m sure our listeners will as well, also. If someone wants to get in touch with you, to ask a question, get your “Millennial Messaging Session” or perhaps they want to reach out to you for an interview such as this…how can they do that? How can they get in touch with you? Folks, you do realize that the Baby Boomer generation is fading away. Most are retired or entering retirement. The generation X, Y and Z’s are all getting older. The Millennial Generation are the ones now entering the s

For the Partners of Porn Addicts – Joshua Shea pt 2

For The Partners of Porn Addicts Joshua Shea pt 2Today’s interview is going to tread in areas that some may find a little sensitive. So if you have young ones around, you may want to pause this until you are able to listen without worrying about the little ones. Yes, it is going to be that kind of interview. (https://kcrpodcast.com/josh-back-cover/) Today’s guest is Joshua Shea. I interviewed Joshua about a year or so ago on the topic of Pornography Addiction in today’s society. I asked Joshua to come back on the program to catch us up on his efforts to shed light in this particular area that is plaguing society today. First, let me give you a brief background of Joshua. Joshua Shea seemingly had it all. A loving wife, two children, and a supportive extended family. In 2010, after nearly fifteen years working of his way up the journalism ladder, he launched a lifestyle magazine in his hometown. Within a year, he was one of the founders of Central Maine’s largest film festival and had won a seat on the City Council in Auburn, Maine. Accolades, including receiving the Key to the City and being called one of the “Next 10 People Shaping Maine’s Economy” by a state newspaper followed. While the public got one picture of Joshua, behind closed doors, his longtime mental health and addiction issues were festering. A workaholic by nature, he actively ignored the red flags surrounding his long-existing pornography and alcohol problems. Finding it easier to lose himself in a bottle of tequila and adult websites, his relationships with his family, colleagues, and friends grew distant. His business ventures began to collapse. Then, Life as he knew it came to a screeching halt when he was arrested on a charge relating to encouraging a teenager to disrobe in a chatroom in 2014. He was convicted and served six months in jail in early 2016. Following his arrest, he sought help and treatment through intense one-on-one therapy, group therapy, and at inpatient rehab facilities. Joshua published a book titled, “The Addiction Nobody Will Talk About: How I Let My Pornography Addiction Hurt People and Destroy Relationships.” We discussed this book in his last interview. I recommend you back to episode numbers 318 and 319 to hear all about his background, what happened and how he has been shedding light on this area – as well as all about that book. Recently, Joshua has published another book, which is why I wanted to bring him back on the program today What type of questions do female partners usually have when they find out their partners are porn addicts? How can someone deal with being exposed as a porn addict, both as the individual involved and also as the partner of the addict? What about kids in the family of the porn addict, when this comes out into the open? Do you have any tips for them? Perhaps this might be another book topic.. What are the first steps that can be taken to help, I guess first of all, the porn addicts…and then those partners of porn addicts? What about talking to your pastor? That may be a dangerous road since most pastors are not licensed therapists, correct? Is your book available on Amazon? Joshua, thank you for taking the time to come back on the program and keep the light shined on this area of darkness. I know it is a sensitive topic, but I appreciate your openness and frankness in discussing what happened to you and how you are now helping others caught in that web. Folks, we all know someone who is walking this path. It may be someone you love. It may be you. But I want you to know that Jesus is the answer, no matter what. That being said, there is a weakness there that most people are not able to overcome on their own. Just like alcoholism and drug addiction, pornography is a debilitating addiction that affects more than just the person who is the addict. It affects loved one

An Expert and a Former Addict Answer Your Questions.” Joshua, thank you for your willingness to come back on the program to discuss this sensitive, but needful topic today. This new book is basically written for the partners of porn addicts, correct? I guess I’ll just ask this question right here. Most porn addicts are males. But are their female porn addicts as well? So this book could be for men, but mainly it is written for women? Your book provided two unique viewpoints on this addiction, to help the partners navigate through these trying times in their relationship. Are those two viewpoints what you referenced with professional contributor and also your point of view? How did you decide that this book was needful at this time? So the partners tend to blame themselves? What type of questions do female partners usually have when they find out their partners are porn addicts? Born Again - John Meacham pt 2

John Meacham has served Christ’s Church as a Christian author, lay pastor, supply preacher, elder, workshop leader, small-group coordinator, Bible-study instructor, and Sunday-school teacher. As a part of his church work, John developed a small-group program titled AIM (An Involved Membership) and prepared a group study guide for the book “Is Your Church Heavenly? A Question from Christ for Every Christian” (published in 2008) John Meacham spent eight days at the Sea of Galilee in 2005. During this time, he received a new revelation from Christ that involved messages that spoke of the state of the seven churches in today’s modern time. His previously released work, 'Is Your Church Heavenly?' details both his experience and the messages he received, and I recommend that book to you. You need to check out all of the information he has over at his website: www.dazzlinglight.org (www.dazzlinglight.org) Romans chapter 8 talks about how we can share these Spiritual truths with people who are unaware or just focus on the physical aspects of living and not Biblical, Spiritual truths. How is that? With all of the attacks on the Bible, on Christians and on Christianity in particular, not just in far flung areas of the world, but here in the United States, this is proof we are closer than ever to the soon return of Jesus, correct? We are spirits. We have a soul. We live in a body. We are basically triune beings as well. The real “us” will live forever. These bodies will not live forever. But WE will live forever. The only thing is, WE get to choose where we will spend Eternity. God does not send anyone to hell. He allows them to go there of their own choosing. All He is doing is honoring their desire. Scripture says, “He will give to the desires of your heart.” If we do not desire to live for Him here, in this life - then He allows us to live without Him in the next life. And that is one decision you will regret for all of Eternity. John, if someone wants to get in touch with you, how can they do that? I’ll put links to that in the show notes below. Folks, time is short. TIME. Not eternity. TIME is simply a blip on the scale of Eternity. And our life on the timeline is just a wisp of smoke at that. But your life matters so much to God that He sent Jesus to this earth to redeem you from eternal damnation. But the bottom line is, it is still your choice. You can believe and accept what the Lord did for you…or you can ignore it. Your choice. Your decision. And NO DECISION is a decision. So, John and I urge you to just pray a short prayer, between you, the Father and Jesus the Son. Acknowledging your past. Asking for and receiving forgiveness of your sin in the Name of Jesus. Then accepting the offer of Salvation and Eternal Life with them, forever. John, thank you for coming back on the program today and catching up on all that is going on. I appreciate it. That is all the time we have for today. For John Meacham and myself, this is Pastor Bob reminding you to BE BLESSED IN ALL THAT YOU DO! John, how have you been, brother? At the time of this recording, we are approaching what the world knows as Christmas. You and I know, and almost any true Biblical scholar knows, that Jesus was not born on Christmas day (despite what the song says). From what you have learned, when is Jesus’ actual birthday? What have you been doing since our last talk several months ago to get your message out? There will be a date. We know there will be a date. Why not focus on “Is He coming back today?” “Am I ready?” Someone may die before the end of this broadcast…so they see Jesus today. Why worry about 2022?
